Recently AT&T announced that it will be making available its wireless Internet network for areas covering US Route 501 in Southern Virginia. The services will extend access to many tech advanced mobile devices, applications and devices for AT&T customers in the area.

Michael Schweder, AT&T President for Mid Atlantic said ‘As more and more of our residents are now commuting along the US 501, they are relying on mobile devices to obtain information and to have connectivity. For this they should have faster connections. Our endeavor to invest in mobile Internet will have a definite and immediate impact for AT&T customers and businesses’.
America’s largest Wi Fi network is handled by AT&T and it includes over 32,000 Wi Fi hotspots located in popular hotels, restaurants, retail shops, bookstores and many more and the company provides connectivity to the Internet through more than 402,000 hotspots located globally via different roaming agreements.
The Distributed Antenna System is another solution offered by AT&T and through this technology it utilizes multiple antennas to optimize speed and coverage in close locations such as convention centers, stadiums, hotels, office buildings and others where traditional coverage systems are not implemented successfully. During the recent years AT&T has invested almost $98 billion in its various expansion operations across the nation. According to a recent survey and a report published by the Progressive Policy Institute, AT&T has been ranked in the number one position in the list of ‘Investment Heroes’ in US as from 2008 the company has infused the highest capital into the nation’s economy.
